ABOUT THE CHANNEL

40 years in IT.
A lifetime of curiosity.

Identity in Plain English grew out of a simple idea: useful knowledge should be easier to share.

From the repair bench
to the bigger picture.

After 40 years in IT, I decided to share some of what I’ve learned in a way that’s easy to understand.

My electronics training began in the U.S. Air Force, where I worked as an F-4 flight simulator technician. Troubleshooting those systems taught me to follow a problem through every layer, rather than stop at the edge of one specialty.

I went on to work as a repair technician in a personal computer store. Over the years I’ve built PCs and home labs, worked across networks and systems, and earned certifications including CNE, MCSE, CCNA, and CISSP.

One lesson has stayed with me: understanding how the parts fit together helps you troubleshoot the problem in front of you.
